Mr. Vivelo’s formal training includes an Associate Degree in Construction Management. He was an associate for six years within this Capacity at S. DiFazio & Sons, Staten Island, NY. Following James worked his way up the ladder at Gateway Car Service, Staten Island, NY for seven years as a dispatcher and then manager, thus establishing his roots in the transportation industry. James purchased Independent Taxi in 1999. In 2001, he was awarded the Middlesex County medical transportation contract, giving rise from a scratch startup now with close to 100 employees.
Mr. Vivelo is actively involved in the community including donating to the NJ Special Olympics, American Cancer Society, local Police fund raising, and JFK Medical Center.
